JustDating App Review Results
Final Word on JustDating
On the surface, JustDating appears to be the sort of dating app that it makes itself out to be in its promotional material. Unfortunately, after you start using it you'll realize that even though it demonstrates great potential, in reality, it can only present you with a rather shallow user experience. The majority of JustDating users would have a difficult time finding a real date on the app.
We would rate JustDating as BELOW AVERAGE.

— In-Depth JustDating App Review —
Wanna chat? Wanna flirt? Wanna date?
If you are single and looking for some fun, action or romance, chances are that your answer to those questions would be, “yes.” JustDating is an online dating app that claims to help you with all of those things. It is an app aimed at those seeking long-term relationships as well as casual encounters.
In its own words, it creates “the warm and exciting atmosphere… designed to spark intimate conversations with those nearby who are also seeking love and passion.”
Well, that sounds like a bucket of extra crispy chicken with a side order of coleslaw thrown in for free! The question is, does JustDating deliver on its promises?
As we all know, or should know, not all dating apps live up to their own hype. If you are single and looking for a long-term romance, will JustDating help you find your soulmate? If you love being single and just want to find a like-minded adult for a casual weekend encounter, will JustDating help you to hook up?
— Availability —
Okay, first thing is first. How and where can you access JustDating?
If you’re into the retro lifestyle and want to conduct your dating or hooking up activities via your clunky old desktop, JustDating will not be for you. JustDating functions as a mobile-only dating platform. There is no browser-based version that you can access from a computer.
It is available for Android and iOS devices. You can download it and install it from from the App Store and Google Play.
— Look and Feel —
Do you like Grimace? Maybe you had a thing for Barney the Dinosaur when you were a kid — maybe you prefer grape juice with your vodka instead of orange juice. If purple is your thing you will love JustDating’s overall theming. From its logo background to its informational banners, everything on the app revolves around purple.
Design color palettes aside, the user interface for JustDating can be described as clean and functional. Its usability and navigation will be very familiar to anyone who has used other dating apps. For those of you who would be losing your online dating virginity to JustDating, you will find it intuitive and easy-to-use. There is no learning curve required. Even your grandmother could use it to get her freak on, but for now, let’s get that image out of our mind and move forward.
— Features —
JustDating has a discovery, chat, newsfeed, and date finding feature.
The discovery feature will be very familiar to most of you. It is similar to those found on swipe-based dating apps. With JustDating you swipe right to let the profile owner know that you are interested in them or you swipe left to move on. There is a supplemental discovery feature called “Nearby.”
This presents you with a scrollable list of profile images of members who are, yes, you guessed it, nearby. In your profile settings, you can establish the definition of nearby. We would recommend no more than five miles in order to have a more manageable list of potential matches presented to you.
The chat feature on JustDating is fairly standard. It is text-based but you can send images if you so desire. It is plain vanilla but functional.
Out of all of the features on JustDating, the one that our testers found the most intriguing was the “Find Dates” feature.
This presents you with a scrollable list of members including their profile image, first name, date, location and a one-line intro. It also indicates how many date applicants they have. Think of it as a date interview process. You can “apply” for a date with anyone on the list. The more “applicants” they have, however, the more competitive it will be.
The newsfeed feature, in all honesty, we found to be a waste of screen real estate. As you would expect, it is meant to make JustDating seem more like a social media site. If you’re into the whole status update thing, then you can go ahead and use it. In our opinion, however, seeing pictures posted by other members of what they had for lunch or the frappuccino that they had on their way home really doesn’t do much in terms of helping one decide who to hook up with — but to each their own.
— Cost —
You can install and begin using JustDating for free. However, if you want to respond to messages and engage the chat feature you will need a VIP membership. This will cost you $10.99 for one week, $29.99 for one month, and $69.99 for three months. You can also purchase one full year for $189.99.
— User Experience and Results —
While the overall look and features offered by JustDating are not cutting edge in any sense of the word, their functionality and technical specs would lead you to believe that they have the potential to help you find the type of date that you are seeking. Unfortunately, there are a few factors that prohibit such a scenario from properly unfolding.
First, there is a lack of genuine and active members on the app. This may be caused by the fact that it does not offer anything that can be considered original or innovative. Couple that with a rather pricey membership model, it’s not surprising that it doesn’t have many active members.
The situation is worsened by the presence of fake profiles. We were unable to determine if all of these fake profiles were the creation of the app itself in order to encourage new users to upgrade to a paid membership — or if they consisted of individual trolls and catfish. Whoever is behind the fake profiles, they are there. That brings down the overall user experience even further.
