Final Word on MatchMySign
MatchMySign is not a bad site. Some people may get some benefit out of it. However, we were expecting more. It would have had been nice to see the astrological component expanded further. Also, having a larger user base that extends fully to all regions of the country would create a fuller experience.
As it is now, we have to rate MatchMySign as BARELY FAIR.

— First Impression —
What would you identify as the most important function of a dating site?
Helping you to meet hot people, helping to put your best foot forward, saving you time and money in searching for partners… all of those are good answers. However, if you reduce things to their bare essence, the most important function of a dating site is to help you screen other members for compatibility.
Without compatibility there is nothing. Some sites rely on complex matchmaking algorithms, others on personality tests, yet others on interactive and fun dynamics — such as swiping games — to help their members find compatible partners.
But what about astrology? Millions of people check their horoscopes daily. Why not incorporate astrology into the compatibility toolbox?
A site called MatchMySign.com has done just that. They proudly refer to themselves as “the number one Zodiac dating site.”
If this concept sounds intriguing to you. If you feel that your dating prospects could get a boost by looking to the stars, then MatchMySign might be up your alley.
When you first visit the MatchMySign homepage you will encounter an ordinary looking dating site. It lacks the modern look and design of other sites, but it cannot be classified as antiquated.
The overall impression of the welcome page is that it belongs to a basic but functional dating site.
— Registration Process —
Registering for an account on MatchMySign is free. It can be done from the welcome page and requires less than three minutes of your time.
The simplest method involves linking your Facebook account to MatchMySign. This will import your basic information and profile picture. The site will never post anything to your feed.
You can alternatively choose to register manually using your email address. This involves entering your gender, that of the partner who you are seeking, and your date of birth.
Following that initial step, you will be given the opportunity to upload a profile image and enter some basic information about yourself on your profile. This, however, is optional. You may leave it blank and complete your profile at a later time.
— What’s Special About MatchMySign? —
MatchMySign can be rightfully considered a niche dating site. While it is open to all adults regardless of age, gender or sexual orientation, the fact that it focuses on the astrology angle makes it niche.
As a niche site, it should have a distinct approach or element to it. We found that the way that MatchMySign incorporates astrology to its matchmaking process is rather simple.
MatchMySign uses your date of birth to determine your astrological sign. It then uses that information in conjunction with the routine search filters that you establish to return a list of suggested matches.
The search results consist of members whose own astrological sign is one of the three most compatible to your own. That’s as specialized and astrological as MatchMySign gets.
In our opinion, this “special feature,” while interesting, is lacking depth.
— User Interface and Features —
The MatchMySign platform is best used on a desktop browser. It can be accessed on a mobile browser but the experience is not as pleasant. Unfortunately, MatchMySign does not have a native mobile app.
The default page of the platform is the “My Matches” section. This lists your suggested matches and allows you to filter them by age range, distance from you, and the presence of a profile picture.
The “My Messages” section is where you will find messages sent to you by other members.
— User Experience and Results —
Using and navigating MatchMySign is a breeze. However, most users will find the user experience to be shallow. Many people living in smaller cities and rural regions may find finding a steady number of potential matches difficult. This is perhaps why the search filter for “distance” can be adjusted from as close as one mile to as far away as 2,000 miles. Now, let’s be honest, how on earth are you going to meet someone in person for coffee if they are a four-hour flight away from you?
For those who live in larger population centers, the search results will be fuller but the compatibility factor will be hit and miss. At least for our testers, adding the astrological component to the compatibility equation did not produce better results than generic dating sites.
— Cost —
The free version of MatchMySign is limited. You cannot send messages to other free members and the number of messages you can send to paid members is limited. Based on our tests, this daily limit ranges from five to 15 per day — it is not static.
In order to have unlimited messages, see when they have been read, and also see who has viewed your profile, you need to upgrade to a paid membership.
A one-month membership costs $24.99.
A three-month membership $44.97.
A six-month membership $59.94.
You can pay for your subscription with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. (Yes, Discover)
