The best way to describe the welcome page for OnlyCougars is “attention-grabbing.” If you’ve been surfing online — all the while allowing ideas of hot and horny cougars to fester in your mind — seeing the page is going to really bring you to a frenzy.

The top portion of the page consists of a full-width image of a scantily clad, hot looking cougar with eyeglasses dangling from the edge of her mouth. Yes, very hot indeed. Scrolling below that image are tiled images of supposed cougars that have joined the site. With such visual stimulation, you are bound to want to register ASAP.

— Registration Process —

Registration starts by going to the upper left-hand section of the welcome page. There you will find a yellow button that reads “Get Started.” By clicking on it, you take your first step into the world of “divorcees, single moms, and sexy cougars,” as the site describes it. The only information that users have to provide during registration is related to location, the age range of the women that they are seeking and a valid email address. The latter is used strictly for verification purposes.

— User Experience —

When you enter the membership area you will find that it is cluttered with banner advertising and with profile pictures of supposed members. During our OnlyCougars review, we found that the cluttered nature of the page makes for a clumsy navigational experience. Whenever you open a profile, you are notified that in order to send a message you must have a paid membership. The same is true for sending winks.

Normally, we would pay for a membership in order to test the differences between the free and paid versions. Unfortunately, for our OnlyCougars review, after five attempts to access the payment page, we were redirected to an error page each time. As far as making first contact with cougars via the free version, it’s impossible.

Unable to access the paid version, we decided to scrutinize the profiles of the cougars — even if we couldn’t make contact with them. Most of the profiles seemed suspicious to us. The images looked eerily generic — staged reality, so to speak. When we rotated between accounts, we discovered that depending on the geo-location of your browser, the supposed location of the cougar also changed. In other words, a large segment of the visible profiles were likely not from real women at all. That is very disappointing.
