Final Word on PlaisirExpress
PlaisirExpress is one of those online dating sites that you wish, due to its sleek and modern design, would provide a level of service worthy of its users. The unfortunate truth, however, is that the user experience is hollow. In our opinion, you cannot rely on this site to find legitimate potential partners. You would be best served to seek the services of another site.
We would have to rate PlaisirExpress as VERY POOR.
— Pros and Cons —
- Fast and easy registration process
- Clean and modern design
- Lack of native mobile apps
- Presence of fake profiles
- Free users constantly pressured to upgrade
- Very few, if any, real female members
— First Impression —
When you first navigate to the PlaisirExpress homepage you’ll encounter a landing page that has a clean and modern design. In the area above the fold, you will find the logo of the site along with a large banner image of an attractive woman and a handsome man engaged in a flirtatious interaction. Also predominantly displayed will be a short registration form which includes a visually predominant “register for free” button.
— Registration Process —
PlaisirExpress uses a fast-track approach toward new user registration. It starts by entering your gender, the gender of the partner you are looking for, your age, a valid email address, your desired password to access the platform, and your ZIP code on the registration form. By clicking on the green “register for free” button, your information is submitted to PlaisirExpress immediately. You will then be shown a pop-up window indicating you to check your email inbox for a verification message.
When you open this verification email you can either click on the link provided or enter the four-digit number that appears in the email in the pop-up window. Either method verifies your account.
— Building Your Profile —
Once you have verified your new PlaisirExpress account you can start building your profile.
The site strongly suggests that you upload a profile image. The photo must be a minimum of 240 by 240 pixels and not larger than 8 megabytes. This image undergoes an automated check and could also fall under the scrutiny of a human verifier. Based on the experience of our testers, it seems like less than 10% actually undergo human verification.
As long as you submit a real image of yourself you should not have any problems with the image verification process. The primary reasons for a profile picture not being approved include uploading images of celebrities, images that result in copyright infringement, images of objects, images which contain offensive gestures, group photographs, photos of someone underage, images which contain personal details such as you holding up a sign with your email address or phone number, and profile pictures that do not match with the gender that you selected at registration.
Once you upload your image, if it undergoes an automated algorithmic approval process you’ll be notified within less than 2 minutes that your image has been approved in the notifications section of your profile page as well as by email. If your image has to undergo human verification the approval process may take as long as 48 hours.
After you upload a profile image you can start adding information to your profile. This includes selecting the desired screen name for your account as well as updating your status. You are provided with 140 characters for your status update and this can be changed at any time. If you do not add a status message you will receive a nag screen reminding you to do so every time that you log into the platform.
From drop-down menus, you can select your marital status, ethnicity, body type, and hair color. Providing these specific attributes are not mandatory, however.
One important item to note when you find yourself at this stage of the registration process is that in the lower left-hand corner of the page will be selected by default the option to “promote your account.” This allows PlaisirExpress to promote your account on your behalf even when you are offline. It will do so by sending links to other members who its algorithm determines would be a good match for you. Additionally, it will add these profiles to your friends list.
— PlaisirExpress User Experience —
As easy as the registration and profile building process is on PlaisirExpress, the user experience that it provides its members falls significantly below even the lowest of expectations.
First, the platform, although it is designed and stylized to look sleek and modern, is extremely shallow. By this, we mean that most of the profiles that you will come across will consist of inactive members or fictitious profiles created by the site itself to promote its services. These fake profiles also manifest themselves on the PlaisirExpress online messaging system. If you register as a free member you will receive frequent messages from supposed female members of the site.
Under any circumstance, the presence of fake profiles is going to sour the user experience. However, in the case of PlaisirExpress it becomes even more toxic because in order to do anything on the platform — such as responding to an instant message, viewing the images of users, or sending out a message of your own — it requires you to pay for an upgrade.
If there were a reasonable number of real members on the PlaisirExpress platform the presence of fake profiles as a promotional tool could be tolerated. However, since the majority of the PlaisirExpress user base is either inactive or fake, paying for a membership would be a grave error.
— Cost —
For those curious about the cost involved in upgrading your PlaisirExpress membership, a three-day trial is available for $2.97. One month will cost you $27. 99, a three-month membership $56. 97, and a six-month membership $95. 94.
