Final Word on Qeep
Provided that you are looking for a social dating app — in other words, that you are not seeking the unique and specialized features of an online dating or hookup site — Qeep performs quite well. It has a large and active user base which allows you to interact quite easily with other members. Also, the large number of users makes it practical whether you live in a major metropolitan center or more rural areas.
The issue with its latest version for iOS devices was bothersome, but we are certain that they will rectify it soon.
As a social dating app, we would rate Qeep as GOOD.

— In-Depth Qeep App Review —
Imagine a social dating app that traces its origin back to 2006. Technically speaking, this was a time before there were smartphones. That is the true history of the Qeep app.
Launched originally in 2006 — rebooted in 2011 — currently, in 2018, it has over 35 million users and claims to grow by 25,000 new members each day.
It markets itself as a modern and youth-oriented app designed to discover new people. As one of its slogans states, “chat, meet and have fun with new people” — that is the way that Qeep likes to present itself.
— Overview of Qeep —
Way back in 2006, Qeep was a Java-based application that could be used on the old flip-style clamshell phones of that time. It allowed for instant chat messaging among its members in a time when such a function seemed so futuristic. In the present day, Qeep is pretty much in line with the majority of social dating apps that are on the market. It is available solely as a mobile app for Android and iOS devices. Its functionality revolves around using geolocation data along with personal attributes and parameters provided by its members to help like-minded individuals meet each other.
As with all social dating apps, Qeep is neither wholly a dating app and neither is it wholly a social media platform. It combines elements of both and creates a low-pressure environment for meeting new people. In other words, it tries to keep things fun and casual. It can be used purely for friendship, casual encounters, or for seeking a long-term partner.
— Download and Installation —
Qeep can be downloaded for free from both the App Store and Google Play. The latest version of the Qeep app can be installed on devices with iOS 8.0 and higher or Android 4.0 and higher.
During our technical performance tests, we encountered an abnormally high number of freezes and crashes in the iOS version of Qeep. These happened without warning and at different stages of operation. Over a five-day period, our testers encountered a total of 13 such incidents. Compared to other apps that we have tested, that is unusually high, especially for an IOS app.
The iOS version of the Qeep app that we used during our testing was version 2.0.1. It is important to note that we did not encounter similar issues with the Android version.
Registering on Qeep is simple. You can register using your Facebook account, or with an email account. The registration form is straightforward. It requires you to enter a Username, an e-mail address, password, date of birth, and your gender.
— Features —
To understand and appreciate the basic features offered by Qeep you must consider that it is designed to revolve primarily around the location of its members. That means that most of its discovery features will take their queue based on where your phone indicates that you are located.
The primary discovery feature, which presents tiled images of members, is divided into three categories. These are “online,” nearby,” and “far away. We told you that it was very location-centric.
This allows you to browse through profiles and determine if someone strikes your fancy. Based on our testing, we found the “nearby” category to work best if casual or long-term dating is your goal. The “online” and “faraway” categories work best for friendship-seeking or salacious online fun.
Qeep uses a “mutual match” policy when it comes to opening up communication features. In other words, if two people mutually like each other’s profiles, then Qeep will allow you to message each other or open up an instant chat conversation.
Qeep also has a random webcam feature. This is similar to Chatroulette for those of you who remember that platform. It shows you the webcam feed of another member. You can then either interact or pass.
Additional features on Qeep include sending flirts. A flirt can be sent to any member. It is the best way to attempt to draw another user into mutually liking your profile.
— Cost —
All of the features on Qeep are available for free. However, a premium version is available.
The premium version of Qeep is called “Spotlight.” A one-week membership has a cost of $1.99. One month will cost you $2.99 and three months will run you $4.99.
The Spotlight option allows your profile to be given preferential positioning on other members’ search results. If you live in a densely populated region of the world, this can give your profile an advantage for getting discovered. The low price makes a premium membership a good value proposition.
— Other Tidbits —
There are a few other areas of note involving Qeep. One is its image policy. While it encourages users to upload multiple images of themselves, Qeep maintains a strict policy against nudity or lewd images.
Also, Qeep routinely purges the accounts of those who violate its terms of service. That means that profiles that appear to be fake or that have a high incidence of being reported for trolling or offensive behavior will be eliminated from the platform.
In the days that our testers participated on Qeep, they reported the overall user experience as being positive. By their assessment, the majority of the users were genuine. Also, the gender ratio on Qeep was extraordinarily well-balanced. It was as close as one male for every female as we have found on other social dating sites.
