FDating
Let’s get the most important thing out of the way first, because it will save some of you the signup: FDating is not a hookup site.
We cover it because people find it while looking for free dating and end up here asking what it is. Its own homepage describes it as a site for serious relationships and family, built to help you find a life partner. The featured members on the front page when we looked were aged 50 to 64, spread across Poland, France, Norway, Germany, Belgium and the United States. If you came looking for someone nearby this weekend, that is not what this is and no amount of free will change it.
What it genuinely is, though, is one of the very few sites left where free means free. Running since 2009, no paywall on messaging, no credits, no premium tier. Below is how it actually works, who is on it, how it makes its money, and what we could and could not verify. Cast your vote and add your own experience at the bottom.

Information
URL: fdating.com
Year of Establishment: The site footer carries a 2009 to 2026 copyright, so it has been running for around 17 years
Site Intent: Serious relationships, life partners and family. It says so on the homepage, and the search filters back it up
Adult material on the lander: None. This is one of the tamest landers we have ever screenshotted
Mobile App: No app-store download, it runs as a website
Operator: Not disclosed. There is no company name, registered address or ownership detail anywhere on the site
Target Group: Straight men and women, heavily international, skewing older
Cost: Free. Its own FAQ states “The site is 100% free. All our services are free of charge”
Sign-in options: Email registration or Google sign-in
Traffic Statistics
We are not publishing a third-party traffic estimate, because the estimate services do not return figures for this domain we would put our name to. What FDating does give you is better than an estimate: real numbers on the page itself.
Directly verifiable when we checked:
The homepage carries a live online counter. It read 523 women online and 732 men online at the time we looked
The women’s gallery reported 129,645 profiles matching a no-filter search, across 10,804 pages
Individual profiles display “Online now” or a last-logged time in minutes, so you can see activity rather than take it on faith
Profile ID numbers in the page URLs run past 6.5 million, which reflects accounts created over the site’s lifetime rather than active users
The copyright line runs 2009 to 2026, and the site is clearly still maintained
That online counter is worth dwelling on, because two things fall out of it. First, it is unusual and genuinely useful that a site publishes concurrency at all. Second, look at the ratio: noticeably more men online than women. That is the normal shape of a free international dating site and it tells you how much competition a man on here is facing.
Who is actually on FDating
This is where you need to be honest with yourself about what you are looking at.
The member base is international rather than local. Browsing the gallery, the countries coming up repeatedly were Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Moldova, Poland and Kazakhstan, alongside the Philippines, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Colombia, Brazil, India and Morocco, with a scattering of western Europe and the United States. The women’s profiles list height, weight, country, city, and the age range of man they are looking for.
There is a filter for “without children” sitting next to the ones for hair and eye colour. That, plus the family framing on the homepage, tells you exactly what the site is optimised for, and it is not casual.
If you are in the US or UK expecting to find someone in your town, understand that you are a minority demographic on this platform. The people you find will mostly be in other countries, and a lot of them will be looking for something that ends in marriage and a visa conversation. That is not a criticism of them or of the site. It is just a very different transaction from the one most of our readers are shopping for, and you should know it before you spend a fortnight typing.
We would also say plainly: any free international dating site with this demographic profile sits in territory that romance fraud operates in. That is not an accusation against FDating, which is a real site with real people on it. It is a caution about the category. The FTC’s guidance on how romance scams work is five minutes well spent before you send money to anyone you have not met, anywhere.
Package Costs
There are none, and we checked this rather than taking the banner at face value.
FDating’s own FAQ answers the question directly: the site is 100% free and all its services are free of charge. There is no premium tier, no credit bundle, no message limit to unlock. Posting a profile, using advanced search, and sending and receiving messages are all free.
One genuinely unusual detail: its FAQ explicitly says you may send your email address or phone number in messages, and only advises caution about doing it too early. Almost every paid site forbids that, because contact details leaving the platform is exactly how they lose a subscription. A site that permits it is a site with no subscription to protect.
Which raises the obvious question. There are no ad units on the pages we loaded, no visible affiliate placements, and no upsell. How it funds itself is not disclosed anywhere, and we are not going to speculate. It is simply an open question you should be aware of, in the same way you should be aware that the operator is not named.
For context, Pew Research Center found about 35 percent of Americans who have used a dating site or app have paid for one. A genuinely free platform is the exception, not the rule.
FDating pros and cons
Pros
- Genuinely free with no paid tier at all, confirmed in its own FAQ
- Messaging is not paywalled, which is where nearly every free site actually charges
- Publishes a live online counter, so you can judge activity before joining
- Profiles show last-logged times and online status rather than hiding staleness
- Running since 2009 and still maintained
- Detailed search filters including country, age, height and children
- Permits sharing contact details, unlike sites protecting a subscription
- Photos are moderated before they appear
Cons
- Not a hookup site. It is built for serious relationships and family
- No operator, company name or address disclosed anywhere
- How the site is funded is not explained, with no visible ads or upsells
- Member base is heavily international, so local matches are unlikely in the US or UK
- Noticeably more men than women online, so competition is stiff
- Skews older, with featured members in their fifties and sixties
- Dated interface that has barely changed in years
- No app, and no third-party traffic data to sanity-check its size
FDating FAQ
Is FDating really free?
Yes, as far as we can verify. Its own FAQ states the site is 100% free and all services are free of charge, and there is no premium tier or credit system anywhere in the interface. Messaging, which is the usual paywall, is included.
Is FDating a hookup site?
No. Its homepage describes it as a site for serious relationships and family, aimed at finding a life partner, and the search filters and member base match that. If casual is what you want, you are on the wrong platform.
Who is on FDating?
A heavily international crowd. The countries appearing most often when we browsed were Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Poland and Kazakhstan, plus the Philippines, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Colombia, Brazil, India and Morocco. The featured members skew into their fifties and sixties.
How many people use FDating?
The women’s gallery reported 129,645 profiles on an unfiltered search, and the homepage counter showed 523 women and 732 men online when we checked. Those are the site’s own figures, not independently audited.
Who owns FDating?
The site does not say. There is no company name, registered address or ownership information in its terms, privacy policy or footer.
How does FDating make money if it is free?
It does not explain, and we could not find ads, upsells or affiliate placements on the pages we loaded. We are not going to guess. It is a fair question to keep in mind.
Is FDating safe?
It is a long-running real site with moderated photos, and it lets you see who is genuinely online. The bigger risk in this category is not the platform, it is romance fraud, which targets exactly this kind of international, relationship-focused audience. Never send money to someone you have not met.
Does FDating have an app?
No. There is no app-store download. It runs in a browser.
