During our Wannameet app review, we did not encounter any technical issues of note with either version of the app. In terms of technical performance, navigation, and speed — it performed quite well.

— Features —

WannaMeet works by using your device’s GPS function in order to determine your geographic location. It then suggests other users who you might find to be compatible who are nearby. WannaMeet also uses information collected from user profiles to determine who is more likely to be of interest to you.

Some of the profile fields that WannaMeet uses for this purpose include your interests in sports and social activities, as well as the language or languages that you speak. Of course, WannaMeet also uses the traditional attributes of gender, sexual orientation, age range, height, weight, and ethnicity to further fine-tune your list of suggested matches.

Since WannaMeet weighs the details entered by users on their profile template so heavily into their matchmaking algorithm, it would be prudent of you to provide as much information as possible on your profile. This will improve your user experience on WannaMeet.

Before you start thinking that WannaMeet functions as some sort of control freak, be advised that you have the ability to filter the attributes that WannaMeet uses to create your suggested matches. You can be as hands-on or as hands-off in that process as you want to be.

Before our testers began their multi-day evaluation to conduct our WannaMeet app review, we scoured the internet to find authentic comments and opinions from real users of the app. A reoccurring theme that we came across involved users complaining about the apparent lack of local match suggestions presented by WannaMeet.

Obviously, if that were substantiated, it would be a cause for great concern. During our testing, we were able to establish that in reality, WannaMeet is capable of providing suggested matches that are as close as one kilometer from you. However, you should be aware that this can be affected by where you find yourself when using the app.

If you are in a densely populated metropolitan area, you stand a pretty good chance of finding many WannaMeet suggested matches within a one-to-five kilometer range. If, however, you live in a more rural area, then the one-to-five kilometer range might not yield any suggested matches at all.

The WannaMeet match discovery feature appears to be designed so as to automatically adjust the distance of the “nearby” settings to accommodate for the density of registered users in any given area.

Based on our testers experience during this Wannameet app review, when the match discovery feature on WannaMeet defaults to 150, 50, or 15 kilometers, you can manually adjust that downward by as much as two-thirds and still find suggested matches. In other words, 50, 15, and 5 km respectively. Doing so will still present you with suggested matches, although the list will probably drop to less than 10 profiles compared to 25-plus. If you adjust the default distance to be any closer — in all probability you will receive zero results.

It is free to download, install, and create a profile on WannaMeet.
